Dian Pelangi, b.1991 Palembang, Indonesia, is a young fashion designer pioneering and pushing the boundaries of muslim fashion in both local and international spheres. Having graduated successfully from Ecole Superieur des Arts et Techniques de la Mode (ESMOD) in 2008, Dian Pelangi had gained invaluable experience and a broader perspective on how to introduce and unify muslim style into the vast spectrum of fashion.

Dian Pelangi draws inspiration from the colours of the rainbow which is reflected in her multitalented skill set and fine eye for detail, colour and artistic flair. As well as the trademark of her vibrant palettes there is an unwavering loyalty towards the traditional Indonesian techniques of creating vivid tie- dye, exquisite Songket and lavish Batik.

This elegant and unique amalgamation of traditional and modern, of design and art, of sacred and universal has culminated into a series of exciting opportunities and has proven to influence a broader demographic of fashion followers.

Rising from strength to strength, by 2010, Dian Pelangi had showcased her collection at Jakarta Fashion Week sparking interest across the country resulting in interviews with CNN amongst others.

She is also the youngest member of Asosiasi Perancang Pengusaha Muda Indonesia (APPMI) which granted her the chance to publish her own book in 2012, a visual street-style collective of muslim women who Dian Pelangi personally selected whilst on her travels.

Furthermore, designs by Dian Pelangi have been featured in international publications such as Islamic Fashion by Pepin Press, Netherlands.

Dian Pelangi has also participated in The International Fair of Muslim World at Le Bourget,Paris and most currently The 2014 Haute Arabia Fashion show at the Blvgary Hotel, London.

Dian Pelangis’ expanding clientele include singers Dewi Sandra and Siti Nurhaliza as well as royals Princess Basma Bint Talal of Jordan and Princess Nadja of Hanover Germany.

Dian Pelangi is an award winner, business woman and a young Indonesian designer pushing trends and pulling inspirations from the global Islamic community, creating fashion from the heart.
